Riding the WAVE

Marratech is riding the crest of a WAVE, after attending the Web, Audio and Video collaboration event at Londonšs Olympia.

More than 100 live demonstrations took place over the two day show with visitors using Marratech's advanced web conferencing technology to meet over the Internet with people in Paris, Stockholm and across the UK.

Said Marratech UK Director, Tony Goss: "We were delighted at the number of people showing a keen interest in video conferencing over the Internet. The high level of interest confirms the growing trend towards teleworking and moving video conferencing and meeting functions into a web based environment."

Visitors were also drawn to the booth after director Steve Milligan's conference presentations themed around 'removing the barriers to collaborating on-line', which described how Marratech enables web collaboration using existing laptops, PCs and infrastructure.

They were able to experience Marratech's interactive whiteboard and real-time video, but it was the exceptional voice quality which enabled clear communications in an open trade show environment which drew most comment at WAVE. Added Tony Goss: "People are always surprised by the high sound quality when they first use our system, but that fact they experience it working on both Windows and Mac laptops also created much interest."

Following the event, the company has received requests to install trial systems from potential users ranging from education and healthcare to the legal profession, consultants and resellers.
