Anyone using a computer for web conferencing can now enjoy crystal clear video, thanks to the launch of the first real time collaboration and video conferencing software to feature multi-platform H.264 video.H.264 gives high quality video at lower bit rates than other systems still relying on earlier standards. The new software release from Marratech works across Mac, Windows and Linux platforms, and allows users to switch to full screen video, opening web-based conferencing to image critical applications such as remote medical diagnosis.
The new release is the result of a development programme with Alcatel Alenia Space to enable Open Broadband Telemedicine, which will bring top medical specialists and hospital departments to a doctor's laptop over the Internet - anywhere in the world.
