Summary of Educause 2005

Magnus Hedberg, our CSO just wrote the following report regarding Marratech presence at Educause 2005.

Summary of Educause 2005 - Oct 18-20, Orlando, Florida, USA.

On-site Joe and Magnus. On-screen Morgan and Rikard.

The largest higher education trade show in USA. Limited to about 200 exhibitors, thus you need to register early to get a booth. In 2004 Marratech was to late and the show was sold out by the time we decided to register :-( This year about 5.800 participants were registered for the show.

Marratech exhibited at Educause in 2003 (2 years ago) at that time the general comment about the Marratech products was "It is an interesting technology, it is something for the future...". Today, at Educause 2005, it is very different. The average person visiting the booth says "I have been asked to look into synchronous collaboration, please tell me what Marratech can do for me" and a handful of customers were even more mature, saying " we are in the market for a collaboration tool, so far we are not happy with what we have seen from Macromedia, Microsoft and Webex. How can Marratech help us?".

We met existing Marratech customers from Winona and Michigan State University. They are very happy with the Marratech products, "It just works". They look forward to upgrading to the new Linux Manager with H.323 support.

Ps. I was also monkey on the screen a short while and meet some interesting people!
